PRINCIPLES OF GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY

Introduction
This course is an effective way of gaining knowledge and experience of the theoretical and practical aspects of GC techniques in a limited amount of time, particularly since it is developed and presented with daily practice of the end-user in mind.  The theory and practical are integrated in the daily program in order to provide the greatest possible benefit to the user.  Delegates will be well informed and updated to be able to modify current applications and solve new analytical problems.

Who should attend?

Individuals, including lab technicians, interested to gain basic knowledge on the theory and practical aspects of gas chromatography.

Topics Covered

·         Fundamental aspects of gas chromatography
·         Instrumental aspects of modern GC equipment
·         Operation aspects like column installation and start-up
·         Packed and capillary columns including their chromatographic conditions and stationary phases (Types, features, chemically bonded, selectivity, maximum and minimum temperatures, bleeding and deactivation)
·         Injection detection techniques for liquid and gas samples (valve sampling)
·         Universal detection techniques like TCD and FID
·         Qualitative and quantitative analytical methods and calibration techniques
·         Highlights of chromatographic software
